If you’re like me, The Secret and other books on the Law of Attraction seem fascinating. But, how do those theories of finding joy and getting exactly what you want fit into your religious beliefs? I was a bit concerned at first. I mean, if I could get whatever I wanted stepping right into my life, what about all the psychos out there attracting victims into theirs?! And, how about God not just giving us everything we want in order to let us learn and grow?

I have discovered after researching the topic for months now that my thoughts and concerns were not unique. My purpose in this article is to be concise in what Ive found to hold true to my traditional Christian beliefs and the Law of Attraction as it has been portrayed in so much media lately.

First, have you ever prayed form something whole-heartedly and didn’t receive it? I always believed that God had a higher purpose or a better plan that my egotistical mind couldn’t see at present. The Secret teaches that your unconscious beliefs were getting in the way. Further study lead me to find that the law of attraction would not bring you what you desire if it is not in alignment with your higher self. So, in actuality, the two principles are in alignment.

Second, The Secret says basically to fake it till you make it in regard to your emotional state. At first glance this too seems a little backward. After a deeper look, it goes right along with the age old teaching of gratitude. Be grateful for where you are, and what you have, and you will receive more. Use your talents, abilities, and gifts to serve and be happy and God provides more. Hey, Im starting to like this whole new aged approach to timeless principles!

Faith is the third aspect here. We’ve all heard of it, and some practice it daily. Though the approach or terminology may be different as of late, it is still the same. “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.” Can anyone not relate to this teaching? Truly trust, and feel hope, joy, love and gratitude now, and your desires are brought to you more quickly.

Finally, the whole point in anyone’s life is to find joy and meaning. This looks different for everyone, and everyone can find it. Happiness could be working alone in your garden, lunch with a friend, dinner with your family, or new shoes that actually feel good. Purpose is just a matter of finding joy along your way. Being happy, regardless of circumstance. Both avenues of thought teach that this is ironically when the “things” you want may materialize. But, if they don’t you are still happy. It’s kind of refreshing that these new “out there” philosophies are just a re-vamp of traditional Christian beliefs.

However you see it…God/universe, gratitude/positive thought, talents/source energy, Child of God/part of the immense universe…truth is and always will be truth. Surprisingly refreshing.

The severest form is cystic acne that is both painful and pretty difficult to treat: besides the external pimples, there are cysts present deep into the skin.

A lot of singles have taken to online dating like ducks to water because it works or, at minimum, it can do. Women are, in general, squeamish of meeting a man that they have been chatting to online.

They have all heard the scary things that can happen and, I must say that they have the right to be wary. That’s not only wise but vital. So what’s a nice guy supposed to do? You aren’t a pervert, a sexual predator, or a weirdo. You are just a nice guy looking for the right girl for you.

Think about the words Motorcycle Club! Why is it that when those words are heard together many think Crime or Criminal Organization? Say you are having an event and you are looking for a place to have it. You can have a book club and everyone will welcome you in! A cooking club and everyone really loves you. You say Motorcycle Club and right away its, Sorry we are busy on that day!

Motorcycle Clubs are even turned away from bars where they want to have events by Independent Bikers,Why is that? We need to let the world know that Bikers independent or in a Motorcycle Club can be good people! We can not show people that Motorcycle Club Members are not all bad if we are not allowed in a Bar because we are wearing Colors, Its the same thing if you are an independent biker and some one will not let you in some sports bar because you are wearing a leather jacket! I hope when an independent Biker who has turned away Motorcycle Clubs from his bar and is then turned away from a bar he wants to go in Understands the irony!

Some Motorcycle Clubs have even gone so far as to changed their name, they call themselves Riding Clubs,Motorcycle associations or some other type of group so they can leave out the words Motorcycle Club! and try to avoid the problems that come with being part of a Motorcycle Club! They say they are different from a Motorcycle Club ! They look and dress and act just like a motorcycle Club but they just call themselves something different! I say a rose by any other name !!!

These Clubs are just trying to get around all the prejudice associated with the words Motorcycle Club ! They are not part of the solution but are part of the problem! This is America and You can call your Club what ever you want, But the thing that unites you and your Club is the same thing that unites all who Ride! It is the Motorcycle! How can anyone leave out the word Motorcycle? It is the heart of what you are!

If You are a Motorcycle Club be proud of it and don’t try to get around any problems by playing word games and calling yourself something else by using different words!!!

Depression is a mental illness that is quite often characterized by lengthy periods of sadness and melancholy, say the experts from the field of psychiatry.

But just because one person mopes around and hates the world around him or her, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he/she is suffering from depression, but if this kind of behavior, the feeling of emptiness, loss of self-worth and absolute lack of hope for happiness goes on , then, that individual could be, indeed, depressed. However, there are various types of depression too.

Manic or Bipolar depression is characterized by sudden and extreme changes in mood – one minute the person is in an elevated state while the next minute (day or week), the same person feels as if he or she is hell.

Postpartum depression is characterized by a prolonged sadness and a prolonged feeling of emptiness by a new mother where physical stress during child birth, an uncertain sense of responsibility towards the new born baby can be just some of the possible reasons why some new mothers go through this.

Dysthimia – characterized by a slight similarity with depression, although this time, it’s been proven to be a lot less severe, but of course with any case of illness, should be seen to immediately.

Cyclothemia is characterized by a slight similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the sufferer of this mental illness has a problem with severe mood swings.

Seasonal Affective Disorder – characterized by depression only during specific seasons (i.e. Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn). However, studies prove that more sufferers actually fall ill during the Winter and Fall seasons, which suggests that light plays a role. Or they could suffer from severe mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in quite a short space of time.

‘Clinical depression’ or as some call it, ‘major depression’, is the [correct|actual medical term for depression. Actually, clinical depression is more a disorder than an illness, because it refers only to those who are suffering from the symptoms that cause depression.

However, in spite of being an actual disorder, clinical depression can be treated quite successfully. Doctors are usually highly optimistic that patients suffering from clinical depression will soon be well on their way to good mental health as long as they receive treatment as soon as they have been diagnosed. Patients who have sought treatment for clinical depression have proven to be very successful in their hopes, since 80 percent of those treated have found relief from their illness.

If you are looking for answers to questions related to clinical depression, the depression section of the health centre is highly recommended, as well as books on psychiatry and the Internet, which offers a great deal of useful information, although self medication is highly disapproved of. Clinical depression may not pose as much of a threat as the other types of mental illness, but it is best to leave it in the hands of the professionals who can attend to and banish this disorder.
